Film about abortion: From a woman’s unique perspective
Feature films are aired every Saturday at 11:00 pm on TV Vision Norway. Last Saturday, May 8th, was the film titled, “Alison’s Choice”. We follow the American teenage girl, Alison, who is facing the toughest choice of her life: should she keep the child, or have an abortion?
The abortion debate has once again created a storm in Norwegian political waters. This time, all left-wing parties, except the Center Party, have decided to extend the right to self-determined abortion. The Socialist Left Party and the Red Party are responsible for the most radical change of direction, and have adopted a new abortion limit of 22 weeks. The youngest healthy fetus is born in week 21.
Film from a unique perspective
Regardless of current legislation, it is not possible to escape the brutal facts attached to such a comprehensive decision as having an abortion. In this film we get a unique perspective on just this. We follow the American teenage girl, Alison, through the decision-making process that must ultimately lead to a decision. Is abortion the right choice to make?
Physical encounter with Jesus
After a dark period filled with anxiety and depression, Alison finally finds herself in an abortion clinic, prepared to remove the fetus. But when she has a physical encounter with Jesus Christ, manifested as an ordinary caretaker, it is no longer obvious that she has come to the right place.
